FALL INTO THE SEAR A YELLOW LEAF 7"    (watership)
i don´t know anything at all about this band... it seems pretty old and i bet this 7" is recorded like 6-7 years ago or so. they are sounding like a mix of frail and chokehold at times. yes. if you are into mid 90´s emo stuff you should check this one out, might be something for you. (30kr/$3.50)

THE FLYING LUTTENBACHERS - SYSTEMS EMERGE FROM COMPLETE DISORDER LP    (troubleman unlimited)
"for more than a decade, this notorious instrumental unit has been destroying puny earthlings with an amorphous fusion of all things extreme and dissonant: hardcore punk intensity, death metal speed and bombast, free jazz density, no wave skronk, electronic noise and modern classical abstraction. since pairing the ensemble down to a one-man unit in late 2002, notorious multi-instrumentalist and composer weasel walter reveals a completely unhindered vision of post-apocalyptic complexity that will stun all who hear it. systems emerge is a dazzling display of violent conceptual virtuosity with ballast and guts to spare, every last detail conceived and executed by one man. the flying luttenbachers was formed by weasel walter in late 1991 and has featured a constantly shifting cast of musicians including ken vandermark (vandermark 5, etc.), fred lonberg-holm (peter brotzmann tentet, etc.), hal russell (nrg ensemble), jeb bishop (vandermark 5, etc.). weasel walter has performed with many other groups and musicians including erase errata, xbxrx, lake of dracula, jim o'rourke, to live and shave in la 1 and 2, bobby conn, cock esp and kevin drumm." (100kr/$12)

THE FLYING LUTTENBACHERS - INFECTION AND DECLINE CD    (troubleman unlimited)
"the flying luttenbachers have been destroying puny earthling minds and souls for almost 10 years with an extreme, amorphous and unlikely fusion of hardcore punk anarchy, free jazz assault, death metal bombast, no wave skronk, electronic noise outbursts and modern classical-style abstraction. total energy, speed and fury are primary factors in the music and the luttenbachers avoid normalcy and predictability at all costs. one mere mortal rock critic described the current line-up as 'a violent mutant hybrid between captain beefheart's magic band, bela bartok and the 2nd album napal death'. he was neutralized shortly thereafter. now the world will be slapped in the face by the gauntlet of ultimate wrath: infection and decline, the tenth flying luttenbachers album (and troubleman debut). the maniacal technicality of the playing and overtly bizarre compositions turn a new page in the band's stylistic development. no irony, no smirking, no stupid post-modernism. this album contains the grim, apocalyptic future of punk rock after punk rock has ceased to exist by definition. to hammer the final nail in the coffin, the album concludes with a devastating and faithful 16-minute version of 'de futura', originally recorded by the seminal french prog band magma." (90kr/$11)

FOOD NOT BOMBS COMPILATION LP    (anima)
anomie, palatka, kathode, insogrey, holocron, six pence, swallowing shit, CONSTATINE SANKATHI and drift. amazing comp. (80kr/$10)

FORSTELLA FORD/LIFE DETECTING COFFINS LP    (level plane)
"forstella ford hammer out 3 new ones in their signature mathy, screamo style. these songs seem a bit more intricate than their previous full length on mountain. you almost get a sense that the songs will fall apart. however, the songs seem more straight forward than their last release, the odd times seem to flow much smoother this time around. with intricate guitar lines and drum beats that will confuse the hell out of you, you won't know which was is up when you're through with this side. life detecting coffins tone it down a little. starting with a meandering bass line and a plodding beat of 'pontiac.' the vocals, curiously sung, drag you through to the noisy chorus and, ultimately to the rocking ending, screaming triumphantly. guitars wisp in and out during the verses only to explode when the time is right. ldc's next track bursts into a driving groove that is unrelenting for all 7 1/2 minutes. comparisons to fugazi are easily made. there are hints of blonde redhead and shellac, as well." (90kr/$11)

FOUR CORNERS COMPILATION LP     (625)
"five international youth crew bands that play high energy positive hardcore, supporting diy ethics and political activism. bands on volume one include: lifes halt (us), highscore (germany), dead end (sweden), point of few (holland) and razlog za (croatia). unlike single song comps, this features a full 4-5 minutes of each band. watch for future volumes to cover diy positive hc bands from all over the world." (80kr/$9)

FUNERAL DINER/THE SADDEST LANDSCAPE RITES OF SPRING TRIBUTE 7"    (fire walk with me)
"both the saddest landscape and funeral diner are ex-members of more or less popular bands, but that really shouldn't matter. they take one rites of spring song each and make it their own, and they play some pretty bad ass versions." (35kr/$4)

FUNERAL DINER - 3 SIDES DEAD CD     (lilac sky)
"cd compiling their 3 split lp's with nexus 6, the shivering and staircase and 3 previously unreleased tracks. 74 minutes of amazing emotive hardcore." (80kr/$10)

FUNERAL DINER - DIFFERENCE OF POTENTIAL CD/LP     (ape must not kill ape)
"this is a great follow up to the funeral diner/staircase split lp. funeral diner creates a dramatic and moody hardcore assault that is over flowing with passionate and well crafted songs. slightly arty, slightly depressing, very emotive, solidly honest, and intense sounding music that never lets go of their passion. funeral diner will be on a us tour this summer. featuring an ex-member of portraits of past." (90kr/$11)

GLASS CANDY AND THE SHATTERED THEATRE - LOVE LOVE LOVE CD     (troubleman unlimited)
"the debut album by portland's glass candy and the shattered theatre is a scorcher! after almost a year recording, the band finally unleashes love love love. recorded in portland by the band, love love love brings to mind past heroes like t.rex and sylvester alike! their patented mixture of glam and disco has spawned a mini-movement in the underground. this self-proclaimed "death disko" sound has the kids literally freaking out." (100kr/$12)

HAWNAY TROOF - GET UP! RESOLUTION: LOVE LP    (tcwtga)
"debut full-length release! the southern drama continues with twelve all new songs from vice cooler and the oakland, ca-based collective known as hawnay troof. 'bedroom beats for the anxious dancing legs of today's youth. aggressive lo-fi rhythms layered with twisted analogue synth sounds decorate this record from beginning to end. 18-year-old vocal chords pushed to the maximum from start to finish. fist in the air rise against the status quo.' - eric bauer." (90kr/$11)

HIGH ON FIRE - SURROUNDED BY THIEVES CD     (relapse)
"with a heavy-hoofed gallop, the gargantuan high on fire bash out towering dimensions of sound on the highly-anticipated surrounded by thieves produced by the highly respected billy anderson (alabama thunderpussy, neurosis, melvins). burning down the pillars of time with quadrupled intensity, high on fire inject tonal infectiousness as the mammoth, plaster-cracking guitar and throaty war cries of founding member matt pike (sleep) interlock with elephantine bass grooves and cannon-like percussion, creating the last word in paralysis by sheer volume. surrounded by thieves perfectly delivers the behemoth sounds of an immense band. sonic its sound... destroyer comes down." (90kr/$11)

HOT CROSS - CRYONICS LP    (earth water sky)
"hot cross delivers and emotional and ferocious piece of hardcore in the shape of cryonics, the band's first full-length lp. nearly a year in the making, cryonics is a collection of dialectics; desperate, yet controlled. structured, yet chaotic. imagine frantic rhythms and intricate time changes coupled with doom-laden neurosis-esque riffage. hot cross has taken their sound to another level and has created a unified and mature work that will defy expectations and leave hearts pounding to a rhythm that suggests both defiance and solidarity. the band has played extensively in the us, europe and japan. they have released an ep as well as a split ep with their labelmates from virginia, light the fuse and run; both to widespread acclaim from within and outside the hardcore punk scene." (90kr/$11)

HOT HOT HEAT - KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK 12"    (sub pop)
"formed in 1999 in the seemingly improbable locale of victoria, british columbia (perhaps the launch of a new british (columbian) invasion?), hot hot heat have, in their relatively short life-span, metamorphosed in a way coincidentally implicit in the elemental dynamism of their name. heat as force of change. hot hot heat have transformed from within the confines of their tense, angular synth-rock beginnings while losing none of their sense of urgency. combining ‘60s mod rock, ‘70s prog and ‘80s new wave/punk, these four have created their own style of danceable pop oddities. and, more to the point, hot hot heat are genuinely fun, with a capital f-u-n. responses to the band often cite such varied influences as the quirks of early xtc, the solid, blues-based rhythms of led zeppelin or the melodic hooks of the cure. equally apt, these disparate touchstones give an indication of hot hot heat’s sources of inspiration and unique synthesis." (80kr/$10)

HOT HOT HEAT 7"    (monotonstudio)
"this hot four piece is a good sign for the ongoing process of steadily renewing modernism with in the underground scene. they are more today than today is possible. they are possibly more tomorrow than today though they are drawing a heavy influence from the past. from this horrible but oh-so-loved century thats everyone is taking from nowadays, simply because it's the time were they and somehow all of us, that are in this specific age now have spent our youths." (40kr/$5)

HOT WATER MUSIC/RYDELL 7"    (ignition)
"rydell are great emo-core from the uk & ex couchies, hot water music are just awesome emo-punk from florida!!! the hwm song is 'just don't say' in a demo-version, rydell's song is unreleased!" (30kr/$3.50)

HUMAN WASTE/UNCLE CHARLES 7"   (regression/halvfabrikat)
"human waste: miserable d-beat punkrock from northern sweden. uncle charles: massive crust attack with three singers, sounds a bit like disrupt." (30kr/$3.50)

IDEAL ELECTRONICS - CONTEMPORARY ELECTRONIC MUSIC FROM SWEDEN CD    (ideal)
the title says it all. compilation cd with marcus wrangö, contemporary punk unit, normal music, mokira, claudia bonarelli, son of clay/figurera, 8tunnel2, frak, dwayne sodahberk, henning lundkvist, tsukimono, dead letters spell out dead words and henrik rylander. (100kr/$12)

IDES OF SPACE - THERE ARE NO NEW CLOUDS CD     (kasual)
"ides of space's full length released by better looking records is ten songs of indie pop that is reminiscent of green mind-era dinosaur jr or smile-era ride. these guys are touring the us with the gloria record in fall 2001, and are even featured on an episode of dawson's creek. watch out, more big things to come from this band!" (90kr/$11)

IMMENSE - HIDDEN BETWEEN SLEEVES CD    (conspiracy)
"the immense story is one which scarcely fits the routine band portfolio. we do know that they pretty much work out of bristol. we also remember that a nascent immense dazzled rock’s leftfield with the awesome spontaneous combustion 12" back in 1999. there soon followed the evil ones and zeroes album (like the 12", released on fat cat records), accompanied by a barrowload of critical acclaim and sensational live shows, including a brace in iceland with sigur ros and low. phase one closed with a 10" collaboration with zan lyons, whereupon immense took stock of their position and prepared for phase two. they built a studio in patrick cases garden, made a conscious decision to switch their allegiance from analogue recording to digital recording and sampling and, in the year 2000 commenced work on hidden between sleeves. according to the band, a total of 25 songs were 'created, laughed at, cried over, pulled apart and destroyed' until they eventually, painstakingly, honed it down to nine for this album. and an utterly spectacular array of tracks they are, too. instrumental aficionados will swoon over the deliciously morose godspeed-esque strings (courtesy of the royal college of music) on the bumper book of facts and knowledge and the lilting oriental melodramatics of hms immense. but immense have added another profoundly significant string to their bow in the form of seattle based singer rocky votolato. this splendidly named gentleman is not only the brother of cody from blood brothers, he also recorded a slew of darkly impassioned vocals for tracks such as skitty piano and 22,000. the end result is a complex stew of humane, mellow lulls and ferocious sonic outbursts, the old quiet-loud-quiet formula hosed down, buffed up and dragged into the 21st century." (100kr/$12)

INTERNATIONAL NOISE CONSPIRACY - THE SUBVERSIVE SOUND 7"     (trans solar)
"all three songs are on the G-7 cd, but who wants cd’s anyway??? three good songs helping to document the international noise conspiracy’s revolution against the system. for fans of the make-up and the who." (30kr/$3.50)

I, ROBOT - DISCOGRAPHY CD    (plenge)
"the complete discography of this remarkable, screamingly intense band. it contains their demo, selftitled 7", split 7" with the cable car theory, a live set, plus a few of the gentlemen went on to form homesick for space. i, robot is heavy, raw, fast and powerful with a dash of melody thrown in for good measure. the us version is released on immigrant sun records." (100kr/$12)

THE JAM SESSION - ATT SKINGRA DET MÖRKER SOM BETÄCKER LANDET 12"    (crucificados)
"forget everything you have heard so far from one of swedens hottest bands :: the jam session is killing you with this new 12inch :: it is so fucking brutal :: no words can be found how good they are :: one of the best european bands currently :: longer and slower songs with more fucked up heaviness and more doom than ever :: the new songs sound like an mix of eyehategod neurosis and or isis :: no shit :: truly amazing :: it is sludgy :: it is so heavy :: violent apocalyptic hardcore with black melodies agony and love for black cats :: those new songs are definitively the best songs the jam session has ever done :: they are so fucking brutal and full of depression :: it is like an soundtrack for human self destruction :: all copies come on solid white vinyl with an amazing artwork done by mattias/tjs sticker and an inlay which is printed on a foil" (80kr/$10)

THE JAM SESSION - YELLOW MICA LP     (bridge/regression)
finally released! longer and slower songs with more fucked up heaviness than ever. i think this is like a mix of the crimson curse and early song of zarathustra stuff with hints of black sabbath and norweigan black metal, no shit. truly amazing. 9 songs (including a remix by members of tinnitus). the best swedish punk record for a long while. (80kr/$10)

THE JAM SESSION/KINETIC CRASH COOPERATION 7"    (crucificados)
"the kinetic crash cooperation offers twisted and spastic chaosgrind. i would say the blood brothers on 70rpm meet the crimson curse and celebrate a party with members of combat wounded veteran. the jam session comes from sweden and their style reminiscents to older song of zarathustra stuff but much faster. all copies come in white vinyl with a printed foil which includes the lyrics in a crazy snake form and a additional orange sheet of paper as background for the foil and the vinyl." (30kr/$3)

THE JE NE SAIS QUOI 7"
the debut 7" from this new swedish band which features ex-members from your halo is a radar. falls in somewhere between 154-era wire and unwound. self released by the band and comes with screenprinted covers and on clear vinyl. great stuff, very recommended! (35kr/$4)

JOHN WIESE/GUILTY CONNECTOR LP    (solitude)
description soon. (90kr/$11)

JOSHUA FIT FOR BATTLE - BRING OUT YOUR DEAD CD    (electric human project)
"'bring out your dead' is an assembling of early, out of print joshua fit for battle material. recorded during the bands first two studio sessions in 1998 and 1999, these tracks originally appeared on split 7"s with love lost but not forgotten & all i ask, a self titled 7", and the 'how to be a hero' cd comp. jffb exemplified the 'screamo' genre, cooperating frantic guitars that go from chaotic to somber, with crazed duel vocals. comparisons could be made to bands like reversal of man, uranus, and one eyed god prophecy." (90kr/$11)

JR EWING - RIDE PARANOIA LP     (gsl)
"jr ewing are five restless young men from oslo, norway. comparable to bands like drive like jehu, antioch arrow, the who, shellac etc. jr ewing's second album, ride paranoia, is their gsl debut. the result is an intense record with a clear and distinct sound, an assault on mainstream "emo" vomit as well as redundant underground hardcore. the vinyl features a full-color gatefold jacket." (90kr/$11)

JULIA - AT THE WINDOW OF VULNERABILITY 7"     (bloodlink)
"the second 7" by julia. julia were an mid 90's emo band from california. sonically, julia had long songs that built up to moments of intensity." (30kr/$3.50)

JULIE DOIRON/OKKERVIL RIVER CD    (acuarela)
"julie doiron, who starts things off, began her career as the 18-year-old bassist for canadian lo-fi darlings eric’s trip, with whom she recorded three acclaimed albums for sub pop before striking out on her own after the group’s demise in 1996. these new songs find their writer more content than she has perhaps ever appeared on record, singing lullabies to her family, love-songs about sleeping in on snowy november mornings, and affectionate tributes to her favorite musicians. where doiron’s approach to modern songwriter-based folk is homey and uncluttered, her jagjaguwar brethren okkervil river offer instead something more far turbulent. building on the sound of their critically-praised don’t fall in Love with everyone you see, this austin, tx group here mixes skeletal folk, lush chamber pop, and supple rock and roll in service of the literate, uncompromising songs of frontman will sheff." (100kr/$12)

KAOSPILOT LP    (level plane)
"proving that arctic conditions are not enough to slow down the manic sounds of hardcore is norway's kaospilot. unlike their country's native black metalers, the band steers clear of absurd bouts of religious denial and mythological imagery in order to deliver pure emotional terrorism. following on the heels of a split 7" with level-plane veterans neil perry and a successful european tour which saw them join forces with hot cross for ten days, kaospilot is no stranger to the level-plane family and pushes the label's diverse sound even further. this is the band's first full length recording and features eleven scintillating bursts of feverish screamy hardcore in the vein of orchid and reversal of man. the band tours extensively around europe and the uk and has tentative plans to tour the united states at some point in the future. this self-titled lp marks the first step in a full sonic assault that will turn hardcore on its ear and force it to look far up north." (90kr/$11)

KEPLER - MISSIONLESS DAYS LP    (plenge)
"the ottawa, canada-based quartet kepler return with their second full-length. this release finds them taking a much more mature route, createing delicate, country-tinged compositions with masterfully minimal strokes. you could liken their sound to slo-core bands like codeine and low, with a touch of modern alt-country stars son volt, but kepler has a unique style that's somehow cold and serene on the outside but warm and alive on the inside." (90kr/$11)

KID606/DWAYNE SODAHBERK 7"    (ideal)
"this strictly limited-edition split release was created to commemorate tigerbeat6's paws across scandinavia 2003 tour, features two new exclusive tracks by kid606 and dwayne sodahberk. both tracks are prime quality indietronics that mix guitars, synths and vocals with forward-thinking electronica." (40kr/$5)

KID606 - WHY I LOVE LIFE 3"CD    (tigerbeat6)
"collection of moody, predmoninantly treated guitar & synth-heavy work recorded between 1997 & now, this 7 song, appropriately sized 3" cdep is almost like a snapshot of the kid sampling his own musical history, picking the most fitting pieces out of over a 100 unreleased & unfinished songs these are the ones that had to be released, a strong document of what was made in over 5 different homes, in 3 different cities & on tour in between. given kid606's prolific output over the past 3 years, fans & newcomers alike will appreciate this highly personal collection of thoughtful instrumentals centered around family, best friends, ex girlfriends and trying to keep from stagnating if yr not keeping up with every new trend. still completely fresh sounding to those already familiar with kid606's oeuvre." (80kr/$10)

KOBAYASHI 7"   (invertebrata)
"these kids look like they come straight out of a britpop club, but they thrash out the kind of noise that can only be produced in filthy basements. fucked emoviolence or whatever the word of the month might be, reminding me a bit of combat wounded veteran or in/humanity for now particular reason - and the strange artsy fartsy college boy lyrics just add the the psychotic sickness of their two vocalists. remember their split 7" with programm c some time ago? well, this is the next chapter, because the split didn't have one techno breakbeat remix..." (30kr/$3.50)

KURT - LA GUARD LP     (x-mist)
"kurt are back, and they're better than ever! the recordings for their 3rd album exceeded the highest of our expectations! this lp finally captures their sound at its full potential: razor-sharp guitars, a thundering bass and full-on driving drums, all totally tight and compact, and at the same time clear and crisp sounding! all of the reactions we happened to get so far were exclusively like 'wow! great! amazing!' - so you can be sure that this is a record you don't want miss out! for all the folks which are into shotmaker, rye coalition and generally energetic emo-core/noise-rock!!" (80kr/$10)
